Stratton: Where Eagles Soar

Excellence On Purpose, Every Day

Stratton Elementary serves more than 500 Pre-K through 4th-grade students, instilling in them a love of learning and preparing them for middle school and beyond. Our students' days begin with English Language Arts instruction, followed by Math and Related Arts like art, music and physical education. Science and social studies are integrated with additional English language arts studies, ensuring the importance of reading and writing are emphasized throughout the entire day. Social and Emotional learning and technology are incorporated into the daily curriculum, rounding out our core academics in a SEL context.

Vanderbilt-along with retired professional teachers (through FLIP)-provide our tutoring services to ensure our children have the support they need to be successful. We also offer Encore to challenge our gifted and high-achieving students. Our on-site nursing staff is also provided by Vanderbilt.

To support physical fitness, we have two programs that offer students exercise: Morning Mile and Girls On the Run. Our school participates in the Morning Mile program before school. In one school year, our students will collectively walk/run/jog thousands of miles! Girls on the Run teaches girls the importance of goal-setting, personal fitness and positive self-esteem-all as they train together for a 5K race.

YMCA Fun Company provides our after-school care, which offers our students extra opportunities to broaden their horizons. We also offer family skating where students and parents can meet and greet each other. One of our most-loved events is our 4th Grade celebration at the end of every year, complete with graduation caps, a walk across the stage, public speakers, live songs and more.

Our educational support extends out into the community, too. Our families are able to participate in a variety of trainings throughout the year.
